PvE Fury Warrior Guide (4.2 patch)
Ahoy, for all you, who wants to play fury warrior:
This guide was originally written for 4.1 patch, but since nothing hanged in our gameplay, this guide is still 100% valuable for current Firelands patch.
Fury warrior is PvE dps spec. It is not recommended for PvP mainly because of lacking in CC/stuns and since 4.1 also low damage in BGs. As fury, you have a lot of self-heals, burst based dps and option to go with 2 2handers or 2 1handers. Class is not so difficulty to play as protection, but playing it as a top requires watching two things at once - your cds and procs and also watching your target, cause you have to always be in melee range. DPS made done by fury warriors depend mainly on their faults in rotation.
Talents:
Basic spec is 8/31/2 (watch the video for actual talent build). Yo dont have much options. In fury tree, you can go for 2/2 Rude Interruption or 1/2 Rude Interruption + 1/1 Piercing Howl. At the end, you choose between 1/1 Titans Grip and 1/1 Single Minded Fury.
There are always a discussions if it is better to go 3/3 Incite + 2/3 Deep Wounds or vice versa. Trust me, that 3/3 Deep Wounds build is better.
According to Single minded fury vs. Titans Grip. SMF is in 4.1 a little bit better, but difference is not bigger than 5% in dps, so run what you like more.
Glyphs:
Primal are always Slam, Raging Blow, Bloodthirst. From Majors you want Cleaving. Than you can go for combo heroic throw + colossus smash (apply sunder armor up to 3 stacks and renew it with every CS) or go Death Wish + Victory Rush. First will increase your dps on boss fights (if your tank is not warrior), second is better for your surviveability. Minor - you want Bloody Healing. Berserker Rage glyph is good for its 5 rage, you will use it really often. You should not need Battle Shout glyph, because you should renew BS more often than every 2mins for its Rage replenish.
Stats + Reforging:
Your main stat is Strenght, do not go for Agility.
As for others. First of all, you definitelly need 26 at Expertise. It ensures you, that none of your attacks will be dodged. You can still be parried, but you can just attack from behind. Second you definitelly need 8% Hit (note, you get 3% for you specialization, so you eed only 5% from items, but just watch your Character tab and go for 8%). 8% hit means that your special (yellow) attacks will never miss. Untill this point it is same for TG and SMF.
TG: Whe you get both of these caps, your priority stat will be Crit. Second one is Hit up to 27% (not more, but you will never have more than 27% anyway). Mastery is no longer more viable than hit, but still pretty good stat for us (I think that you should be somewhere between 7-9 with mastery but I am not tasted yet, what does your dps look like when you dont hve nearly any mastery). Haste is crap, try to avoid haste as much as you can.
SMF: pretty same as TG but mastery is crap for you an haste is a little bit useful. Mastery > Haste for SMF.
To reforging, your goal is to reforge your gear until you will have 26 expertise and 8% hit. Once you get these two caps, reforge every available gear for crit or for hit if it has crit already on it. This means that your optional gear has always Crit + hit ( + something). Look mainly for gear with crit, hit and expertise. If you get gear with haste and mastery, reforge haste to crit if you are TG or reforge mastery to crit if you are SMF.
Rotation:
Always start with Battle Shout, it is not bad to use also Heroic Throw.
TG: Your main goal is to deal as much damage as you can in 6s after you use Colossus Smash, because your target is at 0 armor. Your best damaging ability is Bloodthirst (if you have A LOT of mastery around 12 it can be Raging Blow) so you definitely want to use it every CD, Bloodthirst also can proc in Bloodsurge, which makes you next Slam instant. CD is 3s so you can always do one attack between 2 BS. This attack should be Raging Blow or Bloodsurged Slam. This is sad point of Fury, because both of these attacks are RNG - Raging Blow needs Enrage and Slam depand on Bloodsurge, so it can happen that you cant do anyone. In these situations you this time for Battle Shout + Heroic Strike.
Use Heroic Strike only when you have a lot of rage (75+) or if you get free attack (Battle Trance proc). It is also good point to do HS in Colossus Smash 0 armor duration.
For multiple targets, use Cleave instead of HS. Also use Whirlwind instead of Slam/RB if there is 4 or more targets.
You want to use your trinkets, deathwish and recklessness always just before CS to maximise the advantage of 0 armor on target.
SMF: again early sam thing. Difference is, that Slam is better than raging blow, so u want to use slam in CS buff. Also you will have much more rage, which you dump in HS much more often.
Enchants + Gems:
Best gem for you is Bold Inferno Runy (40str, red). Do not go for socket bonus if it is haste, just use ruby. Otherwise, your blue gem will be Etched Demonseye (20str/20hit, purple) and yellow will be Inscribed Ember Topaz (20str/20crit, orange). You want Reverbeating Shadowspirit Diamond (54str/3% crit damage increase) for meta.
Best enchant for weapons is Landslide, if you are poor go for Hurricane.
Others are:
Head: Arcanum of the Wildhammer, Shoulders: Greater Insricption of Jagged Stone, Cloak: Greater Critical Strike, Chest: Peerless Stats, Bracers: Major Strenght, Gloves: Mighty Strenght, Legs: Dragonscale Leg Armor, Enchant Boots: Lavawalker.
And finally I am posting my video with basic facts and dummy rotation demonstration, watch it with tooltips. Video is available in HD. I recommend to go on youtube through link and watch it at 720p really, or otherwise you will see nothing.
