BoT Guide 1: Halfus Wyrmbreaker
Halfus Wyrmbreaker, two headed giant, is first boss in Bastion of Twilight dungeon. He was hired by Twilight Hammer cultists to subjugate captured dragons in order to facilitate the process of draining their essence.
Phase 1:
As you enter the room, you will se Halfus Wyrmbreaker, The Proto Behemoth and 5 drakes. Halfus and Behemoth are always active and then 3 of five drakes will be active (random every week) and two left will get Unresponsive debuff, so they do not enter the fight. Three active dragons are chained and friendly on the start of the fight, if you free them, they will became hostile and you will have to kill them. Every active dragon gives Halfus a buff (more on that later), but if you free it, it will debuff the boss and compensate its buff. On top of that, for every dragon you kill, Halfus gets Dragon's Vengeance, that will boost all damage dealt to Halfus by 100%.
- Slate Dragon: buffs Halfus with Malevolent Strikes (every Halfus attack deals stacking debuff to tank which decrease healing taken by 6%). If you get Slate Dragon active, you will have two tanks swaping the Halfus. Malevolent Strikes can be removed with paladin's Blessing of Protection or Divine Shield. When Slate Dragon is freed, he debuffs Halfus with Stone Touch (target is paralized time to time for 12secs and cant move nor attack).
- Nether Scion: buffs Halfus with Frenzied Attacks (caster's speed increased by 100%). When freed, he debuffs Halfus with Nether Blindness (decreasing attack speed, hit and damage by 25%).
- Time Warden: Grants Fireball Barrage to The Proto-Behemoth (cast fire meteor on random areas on ground dealing 25.500 - 34.500 damage). When freed, he debuffs Halfus with Time Dilation (slows all spell effects around target), which greatly reduces the meteor fall time.
- Storm Rider: buffs Halfus with Shadow Nova (0.25sec cast, deals 28.500-31.500 shadow damage to and knocks down all players in room). This spell is in practise uninterruptable until you free Strom Rider, who debuffs Halfus with Cyclone Winds (increases casting time of target by 500%), that means Shadow Nova gets 1.5sec cast time.
- Orphaned Emerald Whelp: These are 8 small dragon whelps. They grants Scorching Breath (deals 9.000 fire damage to all targets in front of caster for 8 sec.) to The Proto-Behemoth. If freed, they debuffs Behemoth with Atrophic Poison (reduces damage done by 75%).
Tactics an order of killing dragons depands on their combination. Usually you have to kill Slate Dragon at first, on the other hand Orphaned Emerald Whelps are the least dangerous. If Storm Rider is active, keep interrupter on Halfus to stop Shadow Novas since Rider is freed. You definitely want to kill all three dragons to get all three Dragon's Vengeance, cause it greatly increases your chances to kill Halfus in its 6 minute Berserker timer. Use all your offensive cds to kill dragons asap. Halfus does not get any other abilities than these granted by dragons in P1.
Phase 2:
Halfus enters Phase 2 on 50% of his hp. At this time, you should already kill all three dragons. Halfus gets new ability in P2.
Furious Roar: AoE spells which deals 9.500 - 10.500 physical damage to all targets and stuns them for 2 sec. Halfus use this ability three times in a roar, so you will be able to cst only instant spells between them.
Do not save Heroism etc. for P2, because Roars will ruin effectivness of these spells. If Storm Rider is active, Halfus will cast Shadow Novas right after the Roars. Be prepared to this.
SLATE DRAGON TANK SWAPING:
If you get Slate Dragon active, you will need to swap tanks due to Malevolent Strikes debuff. Tanks should swap each time, when one of them get 8 stacks of debuff (or less if you have worse equiped tanks/healers). Second tank should stand further from the boss, otherwise he can be hit and his stacks increased.
